At Warrior Mental Health, we are a virtual therapy service dedicated to supporting children and teens (ages 10-17) with diabetes. Managing diabetes can be challenging. It often leads to struggles with emotional regulation, stress, and anxiety. These challenges can impact self-esteem, behavior, and overall mental health.

Our focus is on helping children and families cope with these emotional hurdles by providing personalized support and teaching coping strategies. We operate on a school schedule, with sessions starting at 4 pm on weekdays. At Warrior Mental Health, we empower children to confidently navigate life with diabetes, fostering emotional well-being and long-term success.

Who are we?

Who we are

Hi, I’m Lacee—the founder of Warrior Mental Health. I created this space because I’ve seen how tough life with diabetes can be—not just for kids, but for their families too. Before starting Warrior Mental Health, I worked in emergency rooms and Endocrinology clinics, where I met so many brave kids doing their best to manage their Diabetes. I saw a major gap in support for the emotional side of living with life-long condition. Warrior Mental Health is here to fill that gap—a place where kids feel seen, heard, and supported as they build confidence, manage stress, and learn tools to navigate life with diabetes. I truly believe that with the right support, every child can feel strong, capable, and proud of who they are.

At Warrior Mental Health, we combine evidence-based approaches to support children and teens with diabetes. Our primary method is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which helps children accept their emotions and develop a healthier relationship with their diabetes. We also incorporate mindfulness techniques to enhance emotional regulation, build resilience, and improve stress management skills. These approaches empower kids to navigate the challenges of living with diabetes, teaching them the tools to manage their mental health more effectively. By teaching new coping strategies, we help children and families improve quality of life, build emotional resilience, and foster greater confidence and well-being.
